Wilfred Sampson was born in England on July 18th, 1885 and worked as a miner for Phelps Dodge for over thirty years eventually becoming a driller. Rose Sampson was born in at Cumbria, England to Peter Peters and Susan Jane Peters in 1888. Rose Sampson gave birth to Thomas Sampson at their home in South Bisbee on May 5th, 1916. He was a sizable baby, weighing ten pounds. When his son Thomas became of age, he joined his father in the mines. . Wilfred donated $5 to the Red Cross War fund in May 1918. He also subscribed to United War Work. Wilfred also served on the church board of the Presbyterian Church. Wilfred Sampson passed away on July 14th 1953 and was buried in Evergreen Cemetery.
