A color postcard of the Santa Barbara Mission. The front caption on the top right reads: “Santa Barbara Mission and Grounds, Founded 1786.” The back caption on the top left reads: Mission Santa Barbara, California 1786 , is one of the best constructed of the California missions. It is in good state of preservation and surrounded by beautiful gardens. Religious services are held here regularly. The postcard was postmarked Pasadena, California, August 22, 1935 4 PM and was sent by Aunty Beroy and Linda Freer to Mrs H. Cain General Del. Bisbee, Arizona. The back message in ink reads: “Dear Howard and Eva, Sister arrived here at 12:30 noon Sunday after a hot trip she sure was hot. We had not time to see anyone before we left as we one got word at 10am Saturday morning & left at once & had to get everything squared up. Love to all Aunty Beroy and Linda Freer.” The postcard was published by the Western Publishing & Novelty Company, Los Angeles, California and was sent with a green, one cent Benjamin Franklin stamp.
