The launch from the ship Colorado that went to search for the Ramona when it was believed they were missing. THe crews of the Colorado and Ramona had met before the shipwreck and made plans to meet again. When the Ramona did not arrive at the planned meeting, this launch was sent to search for the ship and its passengers. The image is among a collection of images that document the 1915 Calumet and Arizona Mining Company expedition for John Greenway to acquire phosphate rock for the mining company in Mexico aboard the ship Ramona. The Ramona was involved in a shipwreck off of the coast of Mexico.
