The camp of the survivors of the Ramona shipwreck. In the center of the image are two men carrying a dead, headless animal. Possibly a mule or donkey, presumably to eat. Tents are visible in the sides of the image. The image is among a collection of images that document the 1915 Calumet and Arizona Mining Company expedition for John Greenway to acquire phosphate rock for the mining company in Mexico aboard the ship Ramona. The Ramona was involved in a shipwreck off of the coast of Mexico.
