The San Simon Cattle and Canal Company headquarters. It was located midway between the Arizona/New Mexico line and the Chiricahua Mountains west of Rodeo, New Mexico. In 1882 James H. Paramore and Clairborne Merchant of Abilene, Texas, started the San Simon Cattle and Canal Company, branding H lazy HH and 7 lazy HH. Their cattle ranged in the San Simon Valley in Arizona and New Mexico and grazed from the Gila River on the north to the Mexican border on the south.
