Established in 1892, Evergreen replaced the Old City Park cemetery in Brewery Gulch, which was upslope from the drinking water wells. By order of the Common Council of Bisbee in 1914, the transfer of the residents from the old cemetery to Evergreen began. Today, there are over 14,000 burials in the cemetery.
This database is based on handwritten primary sources. We have noted errors in the original records; we also had occasional difficulty in interpreting the old handwritten ledgers. If you identify incorrect information or wish to add to the cemetery database, please send your information to us via the contact page.
We have added upated data from the City of Bisbee Public Works Department, along with thier maps. If you wish to visit a grave, these maps make it relativly easy to find.
Just as you will always be treasured in our memory, the tears in our eyes will wipe away; But the ache in our heart will always stay; To some you may be forgotten, to others a part of the past; But to us who loved you so dearly, your memory will always last.
