The Monterrey Bar in Naco, Arizona was a popular location for soldiers stationed at Fort Huachuca as they offered dances and live shows on the outdoor patio alongside alcohol. The bar opened after Prohibition and was in the Arizona Club Café’s former location. The Monterrey bar opening spearheaded the return of bars to the American side of the border when Prohibition was repealed in 1933. Before then, US servicemen, and everyone else would have to travel south for their drinking needs.
