A postcard featuring a view the Temple of Zoroaster at the Grand Canyon. The front caption at the bottom left reads: "10995 Zoroaster From the River, Grand Canyon of Arizona." The back caption on the upper left reads: "When you go down Bright Angel Trail you will gain an abiding sense of the real proportions of the canyon. For the first two miles the descent is sort of a Jacob's Ladder, zigzagging at an unrelenting pitch. At the end of two miles a comparatively gentle slope is reached. On the way are the Indian Gardens. Looking back from this level the huge towers that border the rim shrink to Pigmies, yet less than one-half the descent has made. Then the final trail begins through the granite towards the river. At the foot of the trail is the river, from which point is seen the Temple of Zoroaster." The postcard was postmarked Phoenix, Ariz. Oct 3, 1921 6:00 PM and was sent by Terry to Mrs. E. A. Watkins Bisbee, Ariz. The message on the back reads: I "reckon" its (sic) much warmer here in Phoenix than in the north.
