Four members of the Girl Reserves dressed up in costume for Circus Day in 1927. The costume appear to have a European inspired look. Note the girls on the end are wearing pig noses, possibly an influence from the political environment of the period. The caption of the image reads, Katszenjammers and Kids. The costumes may be inspired from the comic strip series The Katzenjammer Kids that ran during this period about a German immigrant. The original name of the series was Hans and Fritz. Note the girl second from left has a card around her neck that reads Fritz.
